Retail

PICnet is the leading automation product in the retail sector, from large shopping centers to luxury boutiques.
Application examples

Lighting control

Within shopping malls and supermarkets, the PICnet system allows to automatically adjust the share of artificial light as a function of natural light in order to guarantee the optimal lighting value in the environment in all circumstances.

Depending on the distance from the windows, each sensor reads a different brightness value. At this point, the system will calculate the difference needed to reach the set brightness and therefore increase or decrease the intensity of the artificial light component. In fact, general on / off functions can be easily implemented and controlled by a single point of control, or it is possible, for example, to set groups of lights controlled by sensors for the main accesses and additional timed lighting controlled by presence sensors.

In boutiques and luxury shops, the PICnet system allows the complete management of any light source, traditional, dimmable or RGB, in order to manage every single light point, to obtain optimal lighting conditions in every point of the expositive spaces. It is also possible to create lighting scenarios with automatic and synchronized switching on, according to freely customizable logics. The entire system can then be managed in real time by shop staff through dedicated devices such as tablets or wall-mounted touch screens.

Access control

Thanks to the PICnet system, it is possible to manage access to the various departments in complete safety using transponder badge readers, which ensure a very high level of reliability in terms of security, with the recording of every transit both for the service personnel and the employees.

Each code corresponds to a different user, who has free access to the departments of his competence only on the established days and times. The technology used places this product at the forefront of its sector since the identification card for access is made up of a normal credit card format card without magnetic stripe or electrical contacts.
In this way, the typical malfunctions of traditional technologies due to damage to the magnetic strip or oxidation of the contacts are totally eliminated. Each badge reader can store up to 1300 different card codes in a range of 65000 different codes. The different card codes can be divided into 8 distinct groups, enabling the activation or deactivation of all the cards belonging to the same group according to certain parameters, such as an hourly consent.

Thermoregulation

The PICnet system allows to identify the most suitable solution for optimal management whatever the temperature control system adopted. The system manages any source of heating and air conditioning (heat pump, electric, radiant floor, monosplit, multisplit systems etc.) in an extremely simple way.

In the case of radiators, floor systems or fan-coils, the PICnet modules have relay outputs to control the zone valve or the convector speeds and are available for the main civil series. In the case of radiant cooling systems, the use of the temperature and humidity probe prevents the formation of condensation on the floor.

Thanks to the programming power and the flexibility of the system, it is possible to implement various functions aimed at saving energy, such as the limitation of the temperature regulation range by the occupants that can be set from the PC or the automatic setting of a maintenance temperature in particular time windows.

It is possible to automatically set a minimum 'antifreeze' temperature in periods of non-use, deactivate the temperature control when opening the windows and switch centrally summer / winter settings. In the case of direct expansion (split) air conditioning systems that do not have controls or signals suitable for centralized management in the terminal block, the system will be managed by modules that have an infrared transmitter with high emission power.

Thanks to a patented technology, the PICnet modules are able to fully reproduce the commands from the remote control, not just replicating predefined set points, thus guaranteeing full remote control of the unit, through centralized supervision. Throughout its history Sinthesi has developed PICnet integrations with the most popular brands and models of air conditioning systems, such as Daikin, Fujitsu, LG, Mitsubishi, GREE, Panasonic, Sharp, Toshiba and many others.

Alarms reporting

Through PICnet systems it is possible to have remote signaling of any type of alarm or failure. All reports can be made locally, by means of alarm messages on the local supervision PC or on the display of the Master module, and remotely, by means of alarm messages on the centralized supervision PC or via messages and notifications remotely on any device.
It is also possible to interface PICnet building automation systems with security systems for sharing peripheral sensors, such as sharing window opening or presence sensors, and implementing operating synergies, such as “if a smoke sensor detects a fire principle, sends an alarm notification to the system, the room and hallway lights are turned on and the room door is unlocked”.

Air quality monitoring

The health of the environments is extremely important and the first element to consider is the quality of the air we breathe in our homes and workplaces.

People spend over 90% of their time indoors in which the air often contains pollutants in the form of gas, vapors or particulate matter and it is necessary to know their nature and quantity, in order to intervene.

This need is met by the PN AIR products that are part of the new product line of the PICnet range dedicated to the professional monitoring and control of air quality.

Active monitoring of air quality allows to have real-time control over health conditions within work and domestic environments. QualitAIR products offer the best technology for detecting temperature, humidity, CO2, fine dust, polluting gases, VOCs, ozone and all the parameters necessary to ensure healthy air.

Energy optimization

Thanks to PICnet it is possible to optimize energy consumption and improve the energy class of the entire building. In many cases PICnet systems are a fundamental component for obtaining the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) international certifications, established by the U.S. Green Building Council.
In fact, it is extremely simple to adjust the temperature and lighting of the rooms according to optimal automatic profiles and reduce inefficiencies due to system malfunctions thanks to constant monitoring of technological systems and timely reports in the event of failures.

Technological central

Through the use of appropriate PICnet modules, it is possible to centrally manage all the technological users of the system (thermal power station, pumping stations, air conditioning units, etc.).

Similarly, all the related technological alarms, such as tripping of switches, thermal relay tripping, technological alarms, alarm call for disabled bathrooms and opening of security doors can be signaled at the point of supervision.

All signals can be sent via alarm messages on the supervision PC or on the Master module display. In the event of technological alarms, SMS messages and notifications can be sent automatically to the electrical or hydraulic maintenance technician of the system.

Plant supervision

The supervision and control of the system by the operators in charge can be carried out both locally and remotely. In the first case, a supervision point dedicated to building management will be set up through a dedicated dashboard.
In the second case, supervision will be carried out through a web supervision platform which allows the supervision and control of even more plants distributed throughout the territory by multiple locations and by multiple authorized operators.
