TECHNOLOGICAL PLANTS

PICnet is able to manage and control the technological units for integrated building automation solutions.

Photovoltaic systems

In the emerging sector of alternative energies, the PICnet bus system is an important ally for the command and control of remote installations. In particular, in the case of photovoltaic parks or large-scale photovoltaic systems, normally unattended, the possibility of remote control of the perfect operation of the system, receiving immediate notification of any alarms or anomalies, is of enormous interest.

In this way the plant maintenance technician will be able to intervene promptly to restore the correct functioning of the system and avoid the economic losses linked to the lack of production. By interfacing with the appropriate measurement equipment of the user or of the Distributor, the PICnet system is also able to periodically collect and send the energy production data of the system to a supervision center in order to allow timely verification of the efficiency level of the panels and conversion equipment.

It is possible to detect signals such as tripping alarms of circuit breakers, tripping of arresters, reaching the thermal thresholds of transformers and inverter failure alarms.
The system also allows implementations such as the reset of the motorized switches, the control of the fans and the signaling of any local alarms. All the readings made by the system can be reported in a supervision panel (string voltages, string currents, module temperatures, external air temperature, solar radiation, alternating side voltages, alternating side currents, energy produced and instantaneous power). It is possible to provide for the automatic sending of SMS messages or alarm notifications to the system maintainer when any failure occurs, in order to guarantee timely recovery interventions. It is also possible to query the plant in real time for downloading production data.

Integration: Thanks to the availability of communication modules and a wide range of protocol converters, it is possible to interface the PICnet system with all the other equipment installed with the system, such as intrusion detection systems, interfaces and network analyzers, measuring instruments, etc. All the information collected can be presented to the user in a single graphic interface, facilitating the interpretation of the data and simplifying the management of the system.

Air treatment unit

Freely configurable digital universal controller for the management, monitoring and regulation of ventilation systems, air conditioning and refrigeration with communication on PICnet bus. All automation functions are available in the basic software of the controller in the form of pre-programmed applications with typical systems and can be activated and modified via the user interface software, following a simple configuration path. The controller can be configured to regulate ventilation and air conditioning systems, chilled water production and universal applications such as pressure control, air speed and quality, etc.

In the controller there are 5 different applications plus an empty one that can be freely configured by the user in order to completely adapt to the needs of the individual system. Through the use of additional modules it is possible to implement additional inputs and outputs that communicate with each other through the PICnet bus.

Air conditioning unit

The PICnet system allows to identify the most suitable solution for optimal management whatever the temperature control system adopted,. The system manages any source of heating and air conditioning in an extremely simple and remote way, via PC, tablet or smartphone.

In the case of radiators, floor systems or fan-coils, the PICnet modules have relay outputs to control the zone valve or the convector speeds and are available for the main civil series.

In the case of radiant cooling systems, the use of the temperature and humidity probe prevents the formation of condensation on the floor. In the case of direct expansion (split) air conditioning systems, the PICnet system communicates directly with the external unit, typically via the MODBUS protocol, to allow integration.

For those systems that do not have a control terminal block or signals suitable for centralized management on the outdoor unit, the system will instead be managed through communication with the indoor units, through PICnet modules that have an infrared transmitter with high emission power.

Thanks to a patented technology, the PICnet modules are in fact able to fully reproduce the commands available from the remote control, not just replicating predefined set points, thus guaranteeing full remote control of the unit, through centralized supervision.

Throughout its history Sinthesi has developed PICnet integrations with the most popular brands and models of air conditioning systems, such as Daikin, Fujitsu, LG, Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Sharp, Toshiba and many others.

Thermal production unit

The PN CLIMA module is the digital control unit for the climatic regulation of centralized heating systems with or without the production of domestic hot water.

Dedicated to the heating of residential buildings and small non-residential buildings, it has 4 types of pre-programmed systems, the selection of which automatically enables all the parameters and functions necessary for their respective operation. It consists of a panel module (installation on DIN rail); it can operate in stand-alone or connected to the PICnet system for remote control of all the thermoregulation parameters and quantities

Pumping stations

With PICnet it is possible to completely manage pumping stations and systems. All the installed equipment can be controlled and supervised, for prompt notification of any technological alarms and for the implementation of immediate countermeasures.

In this way, the system maintenance technician will be able to intervene to restore the correct functioning of the system and avoid any type of inconvenience. In some cases it is also possible to carry out predictive maintenance interventions or to carry out interventions directly remotely.

For example, in the case of installation of twin pumps, the system distributes the work load automatically between the pumps and in the event of failure or malfunction of one of the pumps, it is possible to remotely intervene to move the work load on the properly functioning pumps and thus intervene to repair any faults.

By interfacing with the appropriate user or operator equipment, the PICnet system is also able to periodically collect and send data regarding the operation of the system to a supervision center so as to allow timely verification of the efficiency level of the conversion equipment installed.
